The village of Brantôme

Brantôme is a village built in the XIᵉ century and one of the oldest Limousin Romanesque bell towers. Mainly known as a place of pilgrimage, discover the abbey church founded by Charlemagne, the flowery architectural buildings and the Fernand Desmoulin museum. Known as the green Venice, Brantôme will never cease to amaze you with its town surrounded by the Dronne and made up of numerous prehistoric sites and troglodytic dwellings.

The village of Bourdeilles

Mainly known for its castle which dominates the village, Bourdeilles is a medieval village in which you can enjoy the small streets which constitute it. Discover also, the charming seigniorial mill of the XVIIᵉ century, the magnificent gothic bridge over the river, the Sénéchal house of the XIIᵉ century and the numerous manors which are there.

The bastide of Nontron

Nontron is a bastide dominated by a XIIIᵉ century rampart that offers a lovely panorama of the Perigord landscape. Renowned for its cutlery tradition that dates back to the XVᵉ century you can visit the Pôle expérimental des Métiers d’art de Nontron as well as the Fête du Couteau held each year in August.

The village of Jumhilac

In Jumilhac, you can go down along the castle to discover a natural and preserved landscape. Take the time to discover the gold mines of Jumilhac exploited since the Gauls until the end of the XXth century and its numerous forges. Go on an adventure and visit the Gold Gallery located at the Tourist Office, and enjoy hiking or horseback riding in a hilly landscape.

The bastide of Saint Aulaye

With its ramparts, its Romanesque church Sainte-Eulalie of the XII century and its Castle, Saint Aulaye is a bastide of the green Périgord not to be missed. You can walk on the bridge dating from the Middle Ages or on the hiking trails of the forest of the Double, observe the wells, the wash houses, the houses of character and the fairground of the Latière.

The village of Saint Jean de Côle

One of the most beautiful villages in France, this medieval village of Saint Jean de Côle is renowned for its exceptional architectural heritage. Monpazier is a great national site with no less than 32 monuments classified as Historic Monuments. Monpazier is the most famous bastide of the Périgord and its objective is to consolidate the defense zone with the bastides of Lalinde, Beaumont and Molière. You can also visit the famous Place des Cornières, the church of Saint Dominique and the house of the “Chapitre”.

The village of Roque Gageac

Third most beautiful village of France after the Mont-Saint-Michel and Rocamadour, Roque Gageac promises you exceptional walks. Enjoy the 14th century church, the exotic garden, the manor of Tarde, its two buildings, the former residence of the bishops of Sarlat and taste local products.

The town of Sarlat
